Hi dolly we're home!

Okay, strictly speaking I haven't actually been anywhere as such, just absent from cyberspace! Life since Christmas has been a hectic whirlwind but now I am back, and what's more, I bring dolls!

Well... one new doll anyway, my new Tiny Betsy McCall, Peggy...

I'd been admiring Tiny Betsies from afar for some time, but kept restraining myself from an actual purchase as I am very prone to buyer's remorse!
Now that she has arrived however she really is quite lovely, although one thing that's bothering me a bit is her lips. I'm sure they're slightly further right than they should be. This niggle will go one of two ways; either bug the heck out of me until I fix it, or end up making her seem even more endearing than she does now!

We'll have to wait and see, though I am erring to the endearing side right now :)

PS I am also working on a new printable paper doll as well as a possible Flash based dress up game in collaboration with my hubby - watch this space!

New BE Goths revealed!

BE Goths have posted pics of their upcoming series 8 dolls:

I look forward to seeing them in the flesh when they arrive at 'The Last Picture Show' like they normally do, and to see more pics.

I'm loving Greta Vendetta, and Gloria's Egyptian look is nice :) Little Miss P is interested in ancient Egypt so I think that'll be right up her street!

Yet more incredibly limited and unattainable Blythes *sigh*

Yep, Blythes for the elite once again... and so cute too!

I'm loving Marigold's hair but as she's limited to a run of 1000 dolls available only to CWC Complete members living in Japan I guess she's a little out of my league!

The petite is LE also available only from the traveling event "Blythe Styling Situation", Junie Moon, Blythe official mobile site (Japan only) and CWC Group On-line Shopping.

Click on the pics for the full story... I don't have the heart to type... (and other assorted melodrama, lol!).

Actually, I'm only really annoyed because I have to wait until Christmas until I can open my own Primadolly Ashlette who is nicely wrapped and stashed in the wardrobe out of my reach.... why must my husband be so deviously tall!?

New face mold for Blythe - who is the fairest of them all?

Hurrah, at last Takara have announced that a new face mold version of Blythe will be available soon! The new face mold will be called 'fairest' due to it's innocent and pure look and is meant to be more in line with the old EBL mold. It is also alleged to be more matte in appearance than the RBL girls.

Which upcoming releases will debut the new 'fairest' mold is yet to be announced...

New dolly discovery - Niki A La Mode

I get very excited when I discover a new dolly, so I was delighted to stumble across an article on Niki A La Mode...

My first impressions were not particularly favourable, but then that's incredibly dangerous too, because usually when I dislike a doll on first sight I end up being strangely drawn to her until I fall in love! That's how my Blythe and Moof obsessions began... and Coco come to that!

Here's what the blurb on the site says:

Niki a-la-mode is the epitome of today's young fashionista.

Fresh off the pages of your favorite fashion magazines, this sultry-eyed fashion designer loves to keep up with the latest trends and dress the part.

Niki is 20-something and lives the enviable fast paced New York City lifestyle of the very talented and oh-so-chic.

Attending one of most New York's prestigious Fashion Institutes, Niki spent summers honing her skills as an intern with leading design houses. And of course, time in the Hamptons for fun as well.Niki is working in the career of her dreams.

Whether she is jet setting to the west coast, hoping across the pond to Paris for inspiration or even out for a night of clubbing, Niki always inspires with her fashion sophistication.

Niki brings alive the celebrity looks of the moment that grace life on the red carpet.

Come travel with her as she explores; her future beckons. All about a contemporary 21st century sensibility, each of Niki's looks is a carefully coordinated design. With extreme attention to even the smallest details, the style of her hair down to her shoes and accessories, Niki is sure to delight.

14" tall with a hand painted face, fine quality wig and Trulife eyes. Niki is poseable and features ball joints.

She retails for about $135 - $155 US. For more info please click the pic :)

New cute little Barbie Petites... modern Kiddles?

So... Little Miss P and I were watching tv the other day when we happened across an ad for a new dolly. The Barbie Petite ( or Peek-a-boo petites) as they seem to be called in the US.

They actually appear pretty adorable, perhaps they have been taking hints from Petite Blythes and Pullips?

I couldn't find the actual ad but here's a couple of related videos and the relevant section of the Barbie website :)

There's also another vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb4YOA7hXl4
But the poster has disabled embedding so you'll have to click on the link :)

To access the official website click the pic below:

And speaking of Petites I recently discovered that Jun Planning are starting to make Little Pullips again, you know, the mini ones? And if that wasn't enough there'll even be Little Dals!!!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPP! O.O
